I created In Surrender from a place of feeling overwhelmed by life and not always knowing which way to go. I’ve experienced moments where the people I loved were also connected to some of my deepest pain, which taught me that love and safety don’t always feel simple.
In the painting, I’m submerged in the water, vulnerable and surrounded by chaos, yet still looking upward. The koi circling me represent movement, transformation, and the unknown.
For me, this piece is about releasing what I can no longer carry and finding the courage to move forward , even when I don’t have all the answers. what does this piece mean to you?
